MAI – Malaysian automotive Institute

MAI (Malaysian automotive industry) was incorporated on 16 April 2010, to function as an independent non-profit organization under the custodian of Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and was officially launched on 10 June 2010. Core responsible are receive contributions, income and gains from any sources which will be utilised solely for local company to promote the competitiveness.

To assist or participate in transforming the Malaysian automotive industry into a globally competitive sector, committed to wider application of research and technology in market driven niche areas, in efforts to widen the industrial base in enhancing the competitiveness of local automotive manufactured products and services and other related value-added activities on world market.

Key Strategic:

1. Strategic research focuses on identifying mechanisms, opportunities and threats, reviewing and providing policy inputs to improve the competitiveness of local automotive industry

2. International outreach focuses on establish partnerships and collaboration.

3. Capacity building focuses on quality monitor over human capital, supply chain and technology.

Malaysian Automotive Association – MAA

MAA was established in November 1960. The main objectives of MAA are to :

  • develop and protect interest of members
  • make common representation to Governmental Agencies on issues affecting the motor vehicle industry
  • communicate with the public through various media on industry issues, position and objectives
